Should You Put Aloe on Oral Cuts or Scrapes? Most of us know that aloe vera offers soothing benefits to the skin, especially after a sunburn. What you may not know is that the aloe vera plant is not being used to treat oral health problems. Read on to learn more and to decide if aloe might be helpful in your quest to boost your oral health.

Faster Healing Time for Oral Issues

Aloe vera can be used in the mouth to treat cuts, scrapes, and other sores. It can be consumed in a juice form or applied topically, and benefits include an increased healing time. Not only will these issues heal much faster than normal, but aloe vera helps to relieve pain and soothe the oral tissue.

If you are worried about unpleasant side effects from aloe, you can put your mind at ease. Unlike other treatments, applying aloe doesn't sting, and it doesn't leave an unpleasant taste in the mouth.

How to Use Aloe

The most effective aloe treatment will come directly from the plant. To use, you should first break off a small portion of one of the plant's stems. Then, scrape the fleshy portion of the stem in order to withdraw the pulp. Once the gel is removed, you can apply it to the area that needs treatment.

You can also use a commercial product if you don't have access to an aloe plant. Simply place a small drop of gel onto your finger, and then apply it to the affected area. Repeat this treatment several times per day, and you should notice healing benefits and improved comfort.
